Research

We have a broad spectrum of geophysical research including

  • Seismology, the study of elastic waves generated by earthquakes, to image the internal structure of the Earth and investigate the earthquake source process;
  • Geodetic techniques, including GPS and InSAR, to measure lithospheric deformation;
  • Numerical simulations and mathematical theories to model the earthquake faulting processes and earthquake dynamics.
  • Mineral physics to study the properties of rocks at deep Earth pressures and temperatures.
