By Air
Detroit Metropolitan Airport (DTW) is located 30 miles east of Ann Arbor on I-94. It takes approximately 45 minutes to reach campus from the airport. (Other airport options include Bishop International Airport in Flint, MI (FNT), about 50 miles north, or Toledo Express Airport in Toledo, OH (TOL), approximately 45 miles south.)

Airport Transportation

  • AirRide is a bus service that offers 12 round trips daily to Detroit Metro and back. They drop-off and pick-up at 3 Ann Arbor locations, including the the University of Michigan’s Central Campus Transit Center. The cost is $12 one-way or $22 round-trip if you reserve your ticket in advance. Check the AirRide schedule and make online reservations at MyAirRide.com.
  • Several companies offer transportation between Ann Arbor and Metro Airport; most require reservations. View a list of airport transportation options. The average taxi rate is $45.00 from downtown Ann Arbor to DTW.
  • Car rental is also available at DTW.

By Train
An Amtrak station is located in Ann Arbor, with regular train service nationwide. The station and ticket office is located at 325 Depot Street, 734.994.4906, or call 800.USA.RAIL.

By Bus
Nationwide bus service is available from Greyhound Bus Lines, located at 115 E. Williams, 734.662.5511.
