I am a fifth year PhD student at the department of Statistics at University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. I did my Bachelor’s study in statistics at Presidency University, Kolkata (earlier known as Presidency College, Kolkata) and earned my Master’s degree in statistics from Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata.I am a PhD candidate working under the supervision of Professor George Michailidis and Associate Professor Yves Atchade. My current research is focussed on modeling data with complex high dimensional network structure and provide methodology for estimating the corresponding network structure using tools from graphical models and high dimensional inference. Some of the other areas I am interested in are graphical models, high-dimensional inference, nonparametric regression, bayesian inference.
A detailed description of my research can be found here.
Outside academics I am also enthusiastic about sports and like playing soccer, cricket etc. I love reading biographies, detective stories, travel stories and enjoy listening to music. I have a keen interest in painting and find pleasure in writing travel stories as well.
