Visitors can explore the sounds and techniques of 8-bit music through engaging interactive exhibits and learn how early video game composers turned hardware limitations into inventive soundtracks that influence today’s music. Original objects from the Computer Video Game Archive will be on display, helping visitors discover how 8-bit music transcended from gaming to influence modern genres and inspire a vibrant chiptune subculture, with enduring cultural relevance.

Workshop
Participants in this public in-person workshop will get the opportunity to learn from our visiting artist about homebrewed tracker composition software for the Nintendo Game Boy: Little Sound DJ. We will supply the Game Boy’s and instruction, you bring curiosity and creativity! Spaces are limited, so register early!
