Week 1 PM Questions: Solar System Safari

Hey Camp Families! To help better connect with your camper(s) and talk about the activities they are doing, here is a list of questions, so that you can hear about the exciting days they had this week. 

On Monday, the theme was Our Solar System! The campers learned about the scale of the solar system and the planets that call it home.You can ask:

  • Did you act out any planets?
  • How far away is the farthest planet?
  • Can you show me your solar system model?

On Tuesday, we learned about the moon. It’s phases, craters, and tide making ability! Ask your camper:

  • What did you see in the planetarium show?
  • Can you show me how to use your moon phase slider?
  • How are craters/tides made?

On Wednesday, campers focused on the universe and its mysteries. As your camper: 

  • How did you design your bottle rocket?
  • Did you see gravity in action? How does mass affect gravity?
  • What object was the hottest, what object was the oldest?

On Thursday, we looked to the stars! We went back to the planetarium and investigated the color of our sun. Here are some questions to ask your camper:

  • How do constellations tell stories?
  • What makes our sky blue?
  • How did molecules form in stars in the planetarium show?

On Friday, our theme was Becoming an Astronaut! We learned how astronauts train for their missions and launched our rockets! Ask your campers:

  • How high did your rocket go?
  • Why do astronauts need to learn to take go pictures?
  • What was your groups time in the training obstacle course?
