Margaret Bryer

Postdoctoral Fellow 2022-2023


Margaret was a postdoctoral fellow with the Cognitive Evolution Group. She received a PhD in Anthropology from The Graduate Center of the City University of New York/New York Consortium in Evolutionary Primatology, with a focus on primate nutritional ecology and female social behavior. She was previously a postdoctoral researcher in comparative cognition in a joint appointment at Carnegie Mellon University and UC Berkeley. Her current research focuses on the evolution of leadership, also in collaboration with the Kibale Chimpanzee Project. She is currently an assistant professor of anthropology at the University of Wisconsin.
