FFGSI (Future Faculty GSI) positions are available for graduate student instructors. Half of the student’s time can be devoted to instructional development and/or educational research projects, in association with a faculty mentor and/or pre-existing education project in the department. With faculty sponsorship of an idea, student-generated proposals are also welcomed. The only requirement is that the work needs to be situated, or have the ability to be situated, in the department’s teaching program.
MS Degree in Post-secondary Science Education
This degree was first offered through the School of Education in 2007. Doctoral students in the LSA basic science departments are eligible to pursue this dual degree program. To keep scientific understanding as the central core of science education, the MS degree, even if the requirements are completed, cannot be conferred unless and until the LSA doctoral degree is earned.
