Citizen science offers a powerful tool for monitoring light pollution. Chapter 24 of the new book, Citizen Science: Innovation, Open Science, Society, and Policy by Hecker et al. reviews the various citizen science projects addressing light pollution. Connecticut state lighting curfew2023-09-17
On June 27, the State of Connecticut passed a law implementing year-round lighting curfews for all state-owned buildings. It is the fourth state after New York, Illinois, and Minnesota to implement nighttime lighting laws to protect birds and reduce light pollution.
