Gala Library - Detroit River Story Lab

Gala Library

A library of three interactive, STEM-focused curricular modules, designed for high school and college students, take the Detroit River as an accessible and engaging case study for learning about carbon emissions, data visualization, and scientific communication. This library was developed with the generous support of a grant from the Graham Sustainability Center at the University of Michigan. They can be used as stand-alone learning modules or as an integrated sequence.

If being used as a set, the suggested order is:

  • 1. Climate Change and Carbon Mitigation in the Motor City
  • 2. Mapping a Greener Future for the Detroit River
  • 3. Communicating the Impacts of Climate Change
