The Digital Islamic Studies Curriculum and Penn State University Department of History are excited to present Koran By Heart (2011). Koran By Heart is a coming of age story about Muslim kids in modern times that follows two boys from Senegal and Tajikistan, and a girl from the Maldives as they compete in the annual Qur`an recitation contest that takes place in Cairo each Ramadan.

Film screening will be followed by a Q&A with Dr. Mohamamd Khalil, Professor of Religious Studies and Director of the Muslim Studies Program at Michigan State University.
