Welcome back to another semester with the European History Workshop! Please join us on Wednesday, October 2nd 2019, from 6-8pm in 1014 Tisch Hall for a discussion with Professor Joshua Cole of his new book:
Lethal Provocation: The Constantine Murders and the Politics of French Algeria.
As described by Cornell University Press, “Part murder mystery, part social history of political violence, Lethal Provocation is a forensic examination of the deadliest peacetime episode of anti-Jewish violence in modern French history. Joshua Cole reconstructs the 1934 riots in Constantine, Algeria, in which tensions between Muslims and Jews were aggravated by right-wing extremists, resulting in the deaths of twenty-eight people.”
Food and drinks will be provided.
If you would like to attend, please email Lediona Shahollari (firstname.lastname@example.org) to RSVP.
