High signal-to-noise spectra of the planetary-mass object HD 106906 b published

New high signal-to-noise spectra of the planetary mass companion to HD 106906 have just been published.  The data, obtained with SINFONI on the ESO VLT, show a number of atomic and molecular features which are temperature and gravity sensitive.  In the future, we hope to apply new models of spectral retrieval to such data in order to constrain abundances and thus, theories of its formation.  The paper can be found here:  https://arxiv.org/abs/1708.05747.  Below is an image of the system from Wikipedia.  The primary has sports a debris disk, resolved with SPHERE (https://arxiv.org/abs/1510.02511).
