Currently a second year graduate student in the Center for Japanese Studies, I was born and raised in Israel, and earned my BA in English Language and Literature and Asian Studies from the University of Haifa. During my studies there, I spent a year in a student exchange program at Akita University in Japan, sponsored by the MEXT scholarship.

During that period, my interest in media representations of various minority groups began to crystalize, and has led to my current focus on sexual minority groups and their advocacy in Japan.

In the spring of 2017 I was able to conduct field observations and initial research in Tokyo, focusing on the events of Tokyo Rainbow Pride/Week in preparation for the construction of my MA thesis later this year.
