Category: GLACE Northern Michigan Survey 2019
This 2019 GLACE Great Northern Michigan Survey is an attempt, or many attempts, to map the University of Michigan’s Biological Station. Collectively, the Survey asks, and responds to, a series of questions: Who is a map for, its maker or its audience? Can time, or history be mapped? How should space be organized? Can you map the personal? How to deal with the subjective? How to show a landscape that is beautiful, or horrifying, or filled with heartache?
THE GLACE Northern Michigan Survey 2019 was a projected prompted by our final visiting professor, Daegen Miller. These maps were made by the 2019 GLACE students, and they are invitations for you to get lost and to be found.
