The work draws upon the mode of Cycladic statues from the very dawn of Western Civilization in the Aegean in order to make a statement (according to the sculptor) that all \u201cart is communication between people.\u201d It is one of three statuary groups on campus that are modeled upon the style of Cycladic figures, with <em><a href=\"http:\/\/sites.lsa.umich.edu\/greekcampus\/north-campus\/triad-ritual\/\">Triad Ritual<\/a><\/em> and <a href=\"http:\/\/sites.lsa.umich.edu\/greekcampus\/centralcampus\/ternary-marker-tappan-hall\/\"><em>Ternary Marker<\/em><\/a> as the two other ones.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sculptor: Bill Barrett<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Previous: [previous_page] | Next: [next_page]\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; [map id=&#8221;19&#8243;] &nbsp; Designed and executed by Bill Barrett, \u201cKindred\u201d is a statuary group that stands in front of the School of Social Work on the building\u2019s west side.
