The ICAM conference was a good success this year! Fantastic speakers were followed by interesting discussions involving audience members as well as fellow speakers. We give great kudos to our intrepid speaker from Brussels who was not able to attend the conference due to a flight cancellation in Amsterdam, but no less ‘attended’ almost all sessions via SKYPE on Friday, and then had to ride his bike one hour to his office Saturday, through the city on lockdown in the wake of threats following the Paris terrorist attacks, in order to give his talk via SKYPE. The day was not much less adventurous for those attending in person as a spectacular first snowfall deluged Ann Arbor coming down all day – causing delays, cancellations, and some interesting cab rides to the airport. Six to ten inches of snow was reported in the area. A little environmental excitement added to the intellectually stimulating symposium.
