18th biennial Conference on Netherlandic Studies
June 2-4, 2016

The Interdisciplinary Conference on Netherlandic Studies (ICNS) is a forum for scholars, instructors and interested community members from across the United States, the Netherlands, Belgium and the rest of the world to discuss their work in the area of Dutch culture and language. It is a biennial conference organized by the American Association for Netherlandic Studies (AANS).

Traditional conference topics include Art History, Literature, Colonialism, History, Afrikaans, Linguistics, and Local Dutch-American History.

In a series of special events and exhibits, the conference features an excursion to the Detroit Institute of Art (DIA), a carillon event, a display from the university library’s Dutch collection, a display from the university’s papyrology collection, and a trip to the university’s botanical gardens.
