DR. TON BROOS – Keynote Speaker

Dr. Ton Broos will deliver the keynote address at the closing banquet to be held at U-M Matthei Botanical Garden, Saturday, June 4, 2016, 6:00 – 9:00 p.m.

BIO
Dr. Ton Broos studied Dutch language and literature at the University of Amsterdam. He taught Dutch at Sheffield University (UK) and was until recently Director of Dutch and Flemish Studies at the University of Michigan. His research interests focus around 18th century topics from travelogues to emblems, culinary books, publishers and literary themes and characters e.g. Jacob Campo Weyerman and his Biographies of Painters. Other publications include Anne Frank’s literary interests, Bert Schierbeek’s and other poetry, and translations of the medieval plays Elckerlyc and Mariken van Nieumeghen.
