Special Roundtable Event: Ahmet Karamustafa

We are very excited to have Prof. Ahmet Karamustafa (History, University of Maryland) join us for a special session of the Persian Roundtable! Prof. Karamustafa is a specialist in medieval Islam, particularly Sufi thought and practice in Anatolia, and is the author of many books and articles on the topic. He is currently teaching an online course through the DISC program entitled History of Iran in the Islamic Period, and as he will be in town on February 5th to deliver a lecture on the poetry of Shah Isma’il “Khata’i” (make sure to check it out!), he has kindly agree to join us for an informal chat the following day. Coffee and tea will be served, and Persian students and speakers of all levels and disciplines are welcome to join! Hope to see you there!
