Five months ago, JBAP was lucky enough to become recipients of funding provided by businessman and U-M alumnus, Steve Klinsky.
Since then, we’ve been working harder than ever to ramp up our game – and we’ve begun in one of the most exciting ways possible: by conducting fresh excavations at Jebel Barkal.
(We wrote about the season’s kick off here, and hope to post regular blogs about what we’ve found so far, so save some room in your weekly reading!)
This week, on Thursday April 17th, there is an opportunity for all JBAP’s supporters to hear about our work during a public forum: “Digging Deeper: The Klinsky Expeditions”.
This is the first public forum held to hear about, celebrate and discuss the diverse projects included in the expedition roster – led, for JBAP, by our very own Geoff Emberling!
Geoff will be talking not only about the excavation so far, but also about what the rest of our team is up to in the US, UK, Denmark, Germany and Holland, where we continue our studies in geomorphology, archaeobotany, 3D visualisations, ethnography, pottery and much more.
If you’re not in Ann Arbor, don’t worry as the event will be livestreamed on YouTube: https://myumi.ch/e3z3j.
It will take place at 5.30 – 7.30pm EDT (Michigan), which is 10.30 – 12.30pm GMT (London) and 11.30pm – 1.30am CAT (Khartoum).
Meanwhile why not remind yourself of some of the expedition projects here: https://myumi.ch/3RjAA.
We hope to see you there!
