Discussion Questions

How can we make sense of discourses of Pan-Asianism (“Same Origin, Same Race”), “hegemony of homogeneity,” and ethno-racialization, which at times existed simultaneously yet seemed to be in tension with one another?

In addition to thinking about other themes we’ve discussed thus far, such as gender/femininity, food, community building, trust networks, etc., how might we historicize the TOKYO HARE channel in light of Prof. Shin’s work?
