On June 18, 2021, our JSAP Origin Stories series will culminate in an interdisciplinary workshop entitled “Developing Antiracist Syllabi for Studies of Japanese Culture.” This day-long virtual workshop is geared towards introducing graduate students to models of antiracist pedagogy and helping them develop syllabi on a range of topics related to the themes of antiracism, decolonization, intersectional feminism, equity in higher education, and the historicization of race in Japan.
We invite graduate students and advanced undergraduate students from various disciplines, programs, and countries to apply to participate in the workshop, where they will work with faculty mentors to develop their own course syllabus.
The application period is now closed.
