Welcome to the Kargbo-Hill Lab!
As non-dividing cells, neurons must survive for a lifetime, adapting to changing and sometimes stressful conditions. We study how neurons regulate mechanisms of gene expression, including RNA splicing and DNA de-methylation to cope with changes that occur in aging or neurodegenerative disease.
We use a variety of model systems and techniques, including human iPSC-derived neuron models, C. elegans, live imaging and multi-‘omics approaches to address these questions.
