Structural long noncoding RNAs

The discovery of functional long noncoding (lnc) RNAs has revolutionized the field of RNA biology. A number of lncRNAs have been identified whose misregulation results in various disease phenotypes. These lncRNAs often recruit other biomolecules (proteins or other RNAs) as part of their mechanism of regulation. We are interested in understanding RNA structure as well as the molecular determinants of macromolecular recognition in these systems.
