Kendra Opatovsky is a doctoral student in the University of Michigan’s Department of Sociology and a Trainee of UM’s Population Studies Center. She has professional experience in research and communications for community development organizations in Detroit and New York. She holds a B.A. in Sociology/Anthropology and Spanish from Colgate University. A native New Yorker, she now lives in Metro Detroit.
