Andrew Rich Appointed President of Franklin & Marshall College

We are proud to congratulate Andrew “Andy” Rich on his appointment as the 17th president of Franklin & Marshall College. Rich, an Academic Leadership Institute(ALI) alumni, was a member of the 2024 cohort.

For the past six years, Rich has served as the Richard J. Henley and Susan L. Davis Dean of the Colin Powell School for Civic and Global Leadership at the City College of New York (CCNY). Under his leadership, the Powell School has grown by 40 percent to 4,000 students, and he has successfully led the launch of several student success initiatives, including eight new student fellowship programs and a new Office of Student Success.

Prior to his role at CCNY, Rich served as CEO and executive secretary of the Harry S. Truman Scholarship Foundation from 2011 to 2019, and as president and CEO of the Roosevelt Institute from 2009 to 2011. He received his bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Richmond, where he was awarded a Truman Scholarship, and his doctoral degree in political science from Yale University.

“I am excited to become an F&M Diplomat,” Rich stated. “For more than 235 years, Franklin & Marshall has been a beacon for excellence in liberal arts education. We prepare students for fulfilling lives, inspiring them to achievements that enrich every sector of society.”

We extend our warmest congratulations to Andrew Rich as he prepares to lead Franklin & Marshall College into its next chapter of excellence in liberal arts education.
