Karissa Beesley<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Karissa Beesley is a PhD student in the Personality and Social Contexts area of psychology. Her research interests examine employee well-being, emerging technology in the workplace, and professional identity. Her current research focuses on how the rise of generative AI may be shaping the professional and personal identities of workers in creative industries.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Corrinne Chase<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Corrinne Chase is a PhD student in the Joint Program in Psychology and Women\u2019s and Gender Studies. Her research interests broadly include gender socialization, sexual violence, and reproductive justice. More specifically, she is looking at protective factors to masculinity contest culture in the workplace. Additionally, she is interested in studying the gender socialization of young people through the use of social media, including the adultification of young girls and the normalization of violence for young boys.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Silvia Navarro Hernandez<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Silvia Navarro Hernandez is pursuing a Joint PhD in Psychology and Women\u2019s and Gender Studies. Research interests are focused on the experiences of food service workers, farm workers, and those identified as \u201cessential\u201d during COVID-19. Specifically looking into the impact of intersectional identities of race, socioeconomic status, immigration status, and gender to measure the impact of work demands on their mental and physical health in long-term workers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sherlock (Mingjia) Liu<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Sherlock (Mingjia) Liu is a Ph.D. student in the Personality and Social Contexts area of Psychology. She earned her M.S. in Psychology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and her B.A. in Psychology and Sociology from the University of British Columbia. Sherlock\u2019s research interests center on two main areas: (1) women of color\u2019s leadership experiences and treatment in the workplace, and (2) racial identity-based stereotypes and cross-racial relationships. Outside of research, she enjoys bouldering, caf\u00e9 hopping, and traveling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Evita Schaefer<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Evita Schaefer is a PhD candidate in Psychology in the Personality and Social Contexts area. She earned her BSc in Psychology from the Universit\u00e4t Regensburg and her MSc in Psychology from the Julius-Maximilians-Universit\u00e4t W\u00fcrzburg in Germany. She gained applied experience through internships at multinational companies, including BMW and Bosch. Her research examines how career-related conversations between immigrant parents and their children, for example, about the \u201cAmerican Dream,\u201d shape the career development of second-generation immigrants. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yuliya Shyrokonis<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Yuliya Shyrokonis is a Doctoral Candidate in the Joint PhD Program in Social Work and Social Science (Clinical Psychology). She is interested in predictors, outcomes, and treatments of multiple types of interpersonal violence, including domestic, sexual, police, and military violence. Yuliya\u2019s dissertation work focuses on moral injury among military veterans. Yuliya is co-advised by Drs. Lisa Fedina and Lilia Cortina. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
