Madeleine Aquilina is a Ph.D. candidate at the University of Michigan in the History of Art department. She is writing a dissertation on how postwar social housing in Lima was imbricated in questions of indigeneity, labor, and representation. Her work has been supported by grants from the Rackham School of Graduate Studies, the International Institute at the University of Michigan, and the U.S. Department of Education. She is a member of the Graduate Employees’ Organization at the University of Michigan. Before graduate school, she worked in tenants’s rights in Chicago.
