I am a first year undergraduate student. I was first introduced to critical theory and philosophy as a freshman in high school, and I have been reading more and more of it ever since. I was the president of the Ethics Club and a captain of the Debate Team in high school, and both activities allowed me to further develop my interests in this area. I am a debater for Michigan and I plan to major in Philosophy and Political Science. In addition, I have around 10 years of experience in art. I have training in acrylic paints, oil paints, and charcoal, as well as woodworking. I specialize in 3D art, and I was able to do an independent study where I self-taught the AP 3D Art and Design curriculum and produced a sculpture portfolio. Lastly, in high school, I was also heavily involved in school politics and labor rights organizing. I really enjoy making art that has philosophical depth and meaning and I hope that being in the Marxism Lab will deepen my understanding, as well as the meaning and power of my artistic practice.
