NSF Summer Research Internships

The NSF offers a unique opportunity for Math PhD students to participate in 10 week summer internships one of the National Labs.  Research areas specifically being recruited include:

  • Algebra and Number Theory
  • Analysis
  • Applied Mathematics
  • Combinatorics
  • Computational Mathematics
  • Foundations
  • Geometric Analysis
  • Mathematical Biology
  • Probability
  • Statistics
  • Topology

although strong math students in other areas will also be considered. The stipend is quite high ($1200 per week) and other expenses are covered.  This is a unique opportunity to get involved in serious mathematical research and get a foot in the door for some of the most prestigious math research jobs around.
