In 2014 the Department of Mathematics received a gift from the estate of alumnus James Van Loo (BS 1967) to support various initiatives in the area of Applied Mathematics. MCAIM oversees the James Van Loo Post-Doctoral Fellowship fund which supports fellows who conduct interdisciplinary research and teaching in Applied Mathematics. The fund allows MCAIM to recruit highly talented and promising junior mathematicians working on interdisciplinary problems. Learn more about current and past Van Loo Fellows here.
