AIM/MCAIM Seminar Speaker Nominations

U-M graduate students in applied and interdisciplinary mathematics (AIM) are welcome to nominate speakers for a joint AIM/MCAIM seminar. Students should submit their nominations via the Google form linked below by August 1st which requests the following information:

1. The speaker’s name, title, and email.
2. A brief statement (one paragraph) on why their research would be of broad interest to U-M’s applied and interdisciplinary graduate students.
3. The speaker’s CV and research website.
4. And an email of support (this can be very brief) from a faculty member who is closest in the field (forward email to math-mcaim@umich.edu).

Please note that students should not invite or contact these potential speakers in advance. The MCAIM director, with the input of the AIM seminar organizers and the AIM doctoral chair, will order this list of speakers, and we will then contact nominators to issue invitations. The nominators will then coordinate dates available on the AIM seminar calendar and available to the student nominators, speakers, and faculty closest to the field. If no dates are available or the speaker declines, we will move to the next nomination on the list. MCAIM will provide up to $1,000 in travel expenses for these speakers and can support up to two speakers annually.
