One-Year Stand-Alone MS Degree in the Chemical Sciences

The University of Michigan department of chemistry started offering a one-year, stand-alone MS degree program in 2015. This degree program is offered as “research-based” or it can be taken as a “course only” option.

The typical program of study (research-based):
Fall term: 2 CHEM classes, 1 non-CHEM class, research
Winter term: 2 CHEM classes, 1 non-CHEM class, research

The typical program of study (course only):
Fall term: 3 CHEM classes, 1 non-CHEM class
Winter term: 3 CHEM classes, 1 non-CHEM class
