Year of Memory: 1940s
I was 8 at the time—some 70 years ago, and we were visiting our grandma who lived across the street. My sister and I were exploring the neighborhood when we found the small zoo. To our excitement, it had a real, live Wolverine! We had never seen one before. He was much smaller than we thought he would be.

My sister and I then went around the Museum where we found the pumas. We somehow managed to climb up and sit on them, whooping like cowboys! We then entered the Museum and were immediately awed by the size and appearance of the large entry room. We were stunned by its opulence. We went from floor to floor, looking at all the exhibits and reading all the descriptions. We were fascinated. We had never seen anything like this before.

It may have been our first visit, but it was far from being our last!
