Tiered registration rates based on HDI for country of home institution

NAPC offers tiered registration fees based on United Nations Human Development Index (HDI) for the country of a registrant’s home institution. For professional/early career/student registrants, select the HDI for the country of your current home institution. A full listing of HDIs is given here, but examples are:

  • High HDI (HDI > 0.85): USA, Canada, UK, Australia, Chile, Finland, France, Germany, Israel, Italy, Japan, Norway Spain, Sweden, Switzerland
  • Medium HDI (0.85 > HDI > 0.6): Algeria, Argentina, Bahamas, Brazil, China, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Egypt, India, Mexico, Morocco, Panama, Slovakia, South Africa
  • Low HDI (HDI < 0.6): Madagascar, Pakistan

Tickets for the conference banquet (6:30 pm – 8:30 pm on Friday, June 21; capacity 275) are available for $55 ($45 for student/avocational/artist delegates)

  • Early postgraduate delegates are defined as having received a final degree within the past three years (i.e., after June 2021) and who either hold a temporary postdoctoral position or are unemployed in the field. K-12 educators are eligible to register under this category.
  • Student delegates are defined as current undergraduate or graduate students in good academic standing. Avocational delegates are defined as individuals who are amateur paleontologists. Artist delegates are defined as individuals who are principally employed as freelance artists. 
  • Guest delegates are those who accompany individuals registered in one of the other categories. They are entitled to coffee breaks but not scientific sessions.

Low HDI registration rates:

Registration is free for colleagues based at institutions in low HDI countries. 

Registration is required for all attendees of NAPC. Presentation abstracts with a submitting author who remains unregistered after the closing date (May 17) will be withdrawn from the program.

Cancellation notification must be received no later than May 24, 2024, in order to qualify for a refund for any paid item, including general registration, field trips, workshops, events, etc. There will be a $60.00 fee associated with canceling your registration or canceling, altering, or subtracting any other paid item from your registration (field trip, reception, etc.). Refunds will need to be done on an individual basis with direct contact from Conference and Event Services.
