Several members of the El-Kurru team are on their way to Sudan to work with our partners on the El-Kurru community heritage center, which will open this year. We will have a chance to see our worksheets and teacher training materials in action in several Sudanese schools, and we will work more on our bilingual children’s book about El-Kurru, its history, and its heritage. Geoff Emberling, Michael Fahy, Heidi Hilliker, and Bailey Franzoi are joined on this trip by Anwar Mahjoub, who has been visiting us in Ann Arbor for the past two weeks and will be presenting with Bailey on our Collaboratory work at the Archaeological Institute of America (AIA) conference in New Orleans.
Stay tuned over the next month for more updates and photos!
