Hi everyone,
I wanted to write a quick note to say that our Narrating Nubia project has officially ended. We all are continuing to work on projects that started with our funding from the University of Michigan’s Humanities Collaboratory project and I know that we are in various stages of launching two films, a children’s book, educational programs on Nubia for US-based students, a podcast, and various scholarly articles about what we have done. Most recently, Geoff Emberling and Suzanne Davis have published an article about community engagement through archaeology and heritage at El-Kurru in Sudan (available here). We will continue to post occasional updates as this work appears.
In the meantime, though, for those of you who were particularly following the work of our archaeological project in Sudan, I could suggest that you might sign up for our Jebel Barkal project blog, which you can do on the homepage of our website here.
Thanks for all your interest, support, and helpful comments these past 4 years!
Geoff Emberling and the Narrating Nubia team.
