Keary M. Engle (U-M 2007)

B.S. in Chemistry, Economics, Mathematics, and Statistics, University of Michigan, Ann Arbor

Ph.D. in Chemistry, The Scripps Research Institute

D.Phil. in Biochemistry, The University of Oxford

Keary collected degrees and diverse research experienced the way that other people collect… other stuff. He was also a Fulbright Scholar in Germany. He is one of three SSG leaders, and they among the few scientists, who was also recognized during graduate school with the K. Patricia Cross leadership awards.

Keary joined the faculty at The Scripps Research Institute as an assistant professor in the summer of 2015. His research interests lie at the interface of organometallic chemistry, organic synthesis, and catalysis. Outside of the lab, Keary enjoys running long distances (he has been an ultra-marathoner), eating fried chicken, drinking good beer, and spending time with his wife and dog.
