Marjani Abdur-Rahman

“You will face many defeats in life, but never let yourself be defeated”

Marjani is a jack of all trades, from her deep love of mixed-media, to 3D representations of humorous political conversation pieces, Marjani is dedicated to finding purpose in an ever changing world. Gifted with a true spirit of grit and care, she stands out in a crowd, always attempting to make a difference in the work she produces and always surpassing her goals that drive the character she exhibits to society.

Currently studying as a senior at the University of Michigan Dearborn majoring in Health and Human Services with a concentration in Social Work, Marjani embraces each moment as a singer, actress, motivational speaker, mixed media artist, licensed nail technician, and so many more it may be easier to list what she doesn’t do. She feels she is blessed with a creative mind, hands, and a gift of gab, which has brought her on her journey to PCAP as a representative of self worth for not just her, but anybody willing to listen. She wishes to tell everyone that if she can do it, so can you and that anything is capable with determination and self-love.

As someone dedicated to finding a path on a darkened road, Marjani is a source of vibrant light, who uses art in a wide range of capacities to deliver her message of profound representations through her own built experiences. As she continues on her academic and artistic journey, she is dedicated to continuing to fight for the betterment of her own identity and others surrounding her, a defining feature found in all of her art.
