Laura Thomas’ States of Motion, a collection of stories published by Wayne State University Press in 2017, is a finalist for the 12th annual National Indie Excellence Book Award for short stories, as reported in Foreword Reviews, a bimonthly print book review journal based in Traverse City. Laura’s book is one of 14 short-story collection finalists (there are 16 categories of Adult Fiction). Winners will be announced June 15th. Laura is RC creative writing head as well as an RC creative writing alum (1988).
