RISE is a multidisciplinary collaborative of humanists and humanistic social scientists dedicated to undoing Indigenous inequalities. We conduct rigorous research to understand Indigenous experiences and uplift Indigenous voices and wellbeing. We connect researchers, artists, and activists to develop innovative ways of putting research into action to achieve equity for Indigenous Peoples throughout society.
We envision a world in which narratives about Indigenous Peoples in the United States are not defined by the country’s legacy of settler colonialism, but by the historical truths and contemporary priorities of Indigenous communities.
