The Prison Creative Arts Project exhibits hundreds of incarcerated artists’ works and serves as an outlet to those who don’t have access to the outside world. One artist in particular is Miles El, who was offered the program as a creative outlet to process his trauma.
Many incarcerated individuals use art and creativity to process and express their trauma and experiences in modes for others to understand or listen. The exhibit has been going on for 30 years, the longest of its kind, with thousands of works being sold.
This is a beautiful way for individuals without a given voice in the system to speak and express themselves. Read more about the project here.
