SFSI Program Assistant 2016-2017
Job Description
A student program assistant for the 2016-2017 academic year is being sought by The University of Michigan Sustainable Food Systems Initiative (SFSI). This is a part-time, temporary, non-exempt position. The University of Michigan Sustainable Food Systems Initiative engages an interdisciplinary mix of students, faculty, and communities at local and global levels to learn from and build food systems that are health-promoting, economically viable, equitable, and ecologically sound.
Duties may include but are not limited to:
- Catalog interdisciplinary food systems courses
- Assist in the planning and promotion of SFSI events
- Assist with the SFSI Website
- Assist with course logistics for “Food Literacy for All”
- Assist with campus outreach
- Assist with communications
- Assist with analysis of survey data
Required Qualifications:
- Relevant training and/or experience related to sustainable food systems
- Excellent writing and oral communication skills
- Demonstrated capacity to work as part of an interdisciplinary team
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and ability to establish rapport with diverse groups
- Proficiency in drafting reports and communications.
- Experience with collecting and analyzing data
- Able to multi-task and manage competing priorities effectively
Desired Qualifications:
- Fluency with wordpress

The position is expected to be 10 hours per week for the 2016-2017 academic school year, and will begin as soon as the position is filled.
