SUMMARY: Occupying Russian forces detained the Witness and several other men from his town who were later found dead. He was searched, questioned, beaten, and subjected to various forms of psychological torture. He was released with numerous injuries. The Ukrainian Prosecutor’s Office is investigating this case.

The Victim of the incident was a male civilian, a resident of Bucha, and husband to the Witness. The Victim helped to evacuate people and delivered humanitarian aid.

The perpetrators were three male soldiers in the Russian military. The three soldiers were described as having different ethnicities: a Buryat, a Russian, and a Belarusian.
