SUMMARY: The Victim and schoolmates, minors from Beryslav Secondary School Number 1 were taken to Crimea without parental consent in October 2022. After initially spending around two weeks in the Mriya camp, the children were transferred to the Druzhba camp, fenced in by barbed wire, where they were poorly fed, lacked medical care, and were forced to speak Russian. The Victim was held in isolation for 4 days and spent around 40 days total in the Druzhba camp.

The Witnesses of the incident were residents of Beryslav and included an unemployed female civilian and her son, an underage schoolboy.

The perpetrators included Russian-appointed school directors and administrators, camp directors, the so-called head of the Kherson military administration, the Governor of Pskov Region, the head of the Department of Education of Kherson established by Russian forces, and the head of the “Ministry of Education” established by Russian forces.
