250. Deadly missile strike on busy restaurant

SUMMARY: The Ria Lounge Pizzeria in Kramatorsk was hit during a missile strike on the evening of June 27, 2023. The Witness was on the restaurant’s patio at the time and suffered a concussion, among other injuries. He was able to assist others in his group, but one of his Ukrainian colleagues died from her injuries. Ukrainian officials reported that 8 people were killed in the strike, and 60 more were injured.
WITNESSES
The Witness of the incident was a male civilian and resident of the Kyiv region in his early 30s. He worked as a translator in Kramatorsk at the time of the incident.
VICTIMS
In addition to the Witness mentioned above, Victims included male and female civilians aged between their late 30s and early 60s. This included writers, journalists, and a politician. One of the Victims died from her injuries as a result of the attack. Ukraine’s Prosecutor General reported that 8 people died, and 60 were injured.
ALLEGED PERPETRATORS

The perpetrators have not been officially identified, but the human rights organization “Truth Hounds” suspects the 47th Missile Brigade of the 8th Combined Arms Army of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation to be responsible. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported that an S-300 anti-aircraft system was used to carry out the attack, and Ukraine’s Prosecutor General reported that an Iskander missile was used.
