SUMMARY: On the morning of March 9, 2022, an apartment building in Izium was hit in an airstrike launched by Russian forces. An older male resident (the Witness) survived the explosion, but his entire family of seven were killed. Efforts to extract bodies from the rubble were delayed until March 29. Ukrainian officials reported that 54 people were killed in the strike and that Russian forces dropped an FAB-500 bomb from an aircraft.
