SUMMARY: On July 29, 2022, Russian forces detained a male civilian, who was an active partisan supporting Ukrainian forces, at his apartment in Kherson, under the accusation of terrorism. He was immediately beaten, strangled, shot in the face with a blank round, and pressured to give up information on fellow partisans, before he was taken to a torture chamber at the national police station in Kherson. There, he spent 75 days in captivity, during which he was interrogated, beaten, starved, and tortured using various methods, such as through electric shocks with a Soviet-era field telephone. He was released on October 11, 2022. Russian forces also stole valuable items from his home during his arrest.
