36. Killing of civilians.

SUMMARY: During their occupation of the village of Fenevychi, Russian forces shot and killed several civilians. On February 24, 2022, two male civilians in their mid-twenties were killed when Russian forces opened fire on their car close to the nearby village of Rudnia Talska. During the early afternoon of February 25, 2022, two male civilians were shot and killed in their yards by passing Russian military vehicles. Early in the morning on February 28, 2022, Russian forces fired upon a residential area, destroying 15 houses and killing an 83-year-old civilian.
WITNESSES
The Witnesses of the incident were male and female civilians and residents of Fenevychi who worked as community leaders, surgical assistants, blueberry farmers, or were retired.
VICTIMS
The Victims of the incident were male civilians, one of whom worked at a berry farm. They were killed from gunshot wounds.
ALLEGED PERPETRATORS
as described by the witness(es)
The perpetrators were members of the Russian military who varied in rank. Many of the soldiers appeared to be Buryat and were aged between late teens to 30 years old. At this time, it is impossible to determine which of the soldiers shot the men.
