Cashell Lewis is a doctoral student at the University of Chicago, Crown School of Social Work, Policy and Practice. He is a Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, Health Policy Scholar, a Health Services Research Program (AHRQ T32) and a Diversifying Higher Ed. Faculty in Illinois Fellow. He focuses on improving mental health outcomes in African Americans. His specific research interest is to improve aims to increase empirical and theoretical knowledge around African-American adults’ suicidal behavior. Cashell goal is to reduce health inequity for African men in the community as well as justice involved populations.
